Francisco de Goya. My favourite painting is “El Pelele” because it symbolizes the power of women over men. It is a game played in some popular festivals and farewell rituals for bachelorhood, therefore, only women did this.

My favorite Goya's painting is "Majas en el balcón" because it shows how women spend time regardless of social class. Also, in the background of the painting, there are two men, nor their presence, stoped the girls from talking happily.
At that time, people used to criticize women who wore little clothes or neckline at their balconies.
Goya, as a social critic from his hera, painted these two ladies speaking and looking directly to the painter. Maybe he was trying to show us how life was at that time or maybe saying that nothing was wrong with those clothes.

ReplyDeleteI like Goya “El quitasol” because it is a painting that shows me the tranquility of the two figures, a woman and her servant enjoying nature protected by an umbrella. The colors are bright and cheerful.
