1: White represents the King, blue and red the city of Paris.
2: It was adopted in 1793 to replace the Gregorian calendar with a more scientific and rational system and avoiding Christian associations.
The names of the moths were related to what'll happen in each one. Like frost, snow or seedtime.
The month contained 3 groups of 10 days called "décades".

  4. The "tricolore" (three-colour) flag is an emblem of the Fifth Republic. It had its origins in the union, at the time of the French Revolution, of the colours of the King (white) and the City of Paris (blue and red). Today, the "tricolour" flies over all public buildings

The French Republican calendar is a calendar proposed during the French Revolution and adopted by the National Convention, which used it between 1792 and 1806. The design attempted to adapt the calendar to the decimal system and eliminate religious references from it; The year began on September 22, coinciding with the autumn equinox in the northern hemisphere. The calendar was of civil application in France and its American and African colonies until Napoleon abolished its official use on January 1, 1806 (in fact this day corresponded to midnight on Snow 10 of the year XIV, that is, January 31). December 1805, a little more than twelve years after having been introduced) as a timely way to eliminate the signs of the republican. This calendar was briefly reintroduced after the overthrow of Napoleon in 1814, and was also used by the short-lived Paris Commune of 1871.

  5. The three colors of the French flag mean: the red and blue being the city of France and then the white being the monarchy.
If i could describe the calendar i would say that now it isnt religious and uses enlightenment ideas.
