4º - Challenge 13

You must choose ONE of the scenarios below and write a short piece (2–3 sentences).
Use imagination — but also be historically accurate.

🟠 OPTION 1 – “Through the Eyes of a Soldier”

Imagine you are a young soldier on the Western Front in 1916.
You are inside a trench.
You hear the artillery.
You can smell the mud, smoke, and fear.

👉 Write 2–3 sentences describing what you see, what you feel, or what you fear might happen next.

Be original...

🟠 OPTION 2 – “If My City Were Caught in the War…”

Imagine that today, your own city suddenly experiences life during WWI as if it were 1914–1918.

👉 In 2–3 sentences, describe:

  • what daily life would look like,
  • what would be difficult to access,
  • how people’s routines would change.

🟠 OPTION 3 – “Voices From the Home Front”

Imagine you are a teenager in 1917 whose brother, father, cousin, or friend is fighting far away.

👉 Write 2–3 sentences explaining what you would write in a letter to them.

RULES OF THE CHALLENGE

  • Keep it short.
  • Be imaginative and historically realistic.
  • No copying from the internet.
  • Avoid modern technology unless the scenario asks for it.

    Hello Dad
How are you? I miss you so much.
I really want you to come back and for all this to be over. We have very little food left! And please be very careful and come back soon. I love you.

  4. The trench is dark and full of mud that sticks to my clothes. The loud guns boom again and again, and the floor shakes under my feet. I am scared that when we leave the trench, I never see my family again.
