The March on Rome took place in October 1922 in Rome, Italy, and was led by Benito Mussolini. During this event, thousands of fascist supporters marched toward the capital to pressure the government. As a result, King Victor Emmanuel III appointed Mussolini as Prime Minister, which marked the beginning of a fascist dictatorship in the country that lasted for many years.
